Wynton Marsalis has been described as the most outstanding jazz musician and trumpeter of his generation. This electrifying, one-night-only event includes classic works paired with newly arranged jazz versions and a selection from Marsalis’ own “Swing Symphony.” This versatile 15-member orchestra performs a vast repertoire ranging from original compositions and commissioned works to rare historic compositions and masterworks by the likes of Ellington, Basie, Monk, Fletcher Henderson, and Mary Lou Williams. Members include many of today’s finest jazz soloists and ensemble players including saxophonists Walter Blanding, Ted Nash, and Victor Goines; trumpeters Marcus Printup and Ryan Kisor, and trombonist Vincent Gardner.
