UW BLUE NOTE ENSEMBLE. The BNE is a quintet under the direction of Johannes Wallmann focusing on the music of one 1950s or 1960s jazz recording artist. This concert will feature music composed by Wayne Shorter for the ensembles of Miles Davis, Art Blakey, and Shorter’s own ensembles. Performers include Jon Krueger, alto saxophone; Jack Ohly, trombone; Jack Johnson, piano; Nathan Pedraza, bass; and Michael Plumridge, drums. Café CODA, 1224 Williamson St. 5:30pm. Tickets $10.
