9/29:  THE NEW ORLEANS TRIBUTE:  SECOND LINE SOUL LIVE RECORDING.  Award winning trombonist Darren Sterud and his New Orleans combo will be recording live for an upcoming album.  The repertoire will include classic New Orleans music and some R&B tunes that have been arranged for the New Orleans Combo. One tune was written by former Madisonian Xavier Lynn, who now tours with Ledisi.   The combo includes DMA candidate Chris Rottmayer on piano and award winning bassist Ben Ferris.   Also joining Sterud are bandmates from Mama Digdown’s Brass Band:  Nat McIntosh, trombone; Ben Bell-Bern, trumpet and Jordan Cohen, drums, plus some special guests. North Street Cabaret  8pm.  Tickets $20 advance/$25 at the door.
