11/18: SAM ROBINSON QUINTET. Trumpeter Sam Robinson has played in venues all over Chicago and the Midwest. He currently leads the Quintet, which plays straight-ahead jazz, mainly from the hard-bop /post-bop era. The band also performs original compositions in a similar style. The group includes saxophonist Scott Angst; drummer Linard Stroud; guitarist Gabriel Datcu and bassist Nicholas Davis. Café CODA, 1224 Williamson St. 8pm. Tickets $20.
