RYAN MEISEL QUARTET & SUSAN HOFER. The Milwaukee quartet features Ryan Meisel, saxophone; Guitarist Chris Newlin, bassists David Dinauer and Isaiah Simmons, and drummers Jake Polancich and Paul Westfahl. The quartet will be joined by a trio of Madisonians including vocalist Susan Hofer; guitarist Doug Brown and bassist Matt Rodgers. The music will pay tribute to the history of swing, bebop, hard-bop and the avant-garde. North Street Cabaret, 610 North St. 8pm. Tickets $15.
