The much-anticipated and excellent new documentary film, “Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool,” had its Madison premiere on Friday, 10/25, at Madison’s Market Square Theatre, 6604 Odana Road, the discount movie house where tickets are only $3.00 for all shows. The film was created for the PBS “American Masters” series and is directed by award-winning documentarian, Stanley Nelson, Jr., winner of a MacArthur Foundation “genius grant” in 2002.

Daily show times are at 2:50 and 7:10pm, with an additional late showing on Fridays and Saturdays.  The Friday and Saturday shows are at 9:35pm through 11/7/19, and switch to 9:15pm starting on 11/8/19.

The length of the film’s Madison run will be determined in large part by audience response. At the moment, it’s confirmed only through Thursday, 11/14.
