MADISON JAZZ FESTIVAL-MICHAEL HACKETT QUINTET. This exciting performance will feature trumpeter Hackett’s original compositions as well as a few choice jazz classics. Saxophonist Tom Gullion and Hackett are both graduates of prestigious Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. They are reuniting decades later for this special night backed by Madison’s own power trio, The New Breed. The quintet will include Michael Hackett, trumpet; Tom Gullion, saxophone; Chris Rottmayer, piano; Nick Moran, bass and Michael Brenneis, drums. North Street Cabaret, 610 North St. 8pm. Tickets $20.
