Johannes’ quintet recorded an hour’s worth of music from his latest album, Day and Night, in the Wisconsin Public Radio studio for broadcast on WPR stations.  The program will air on Friday, May 3, 9 pm to 10 pm on the NPR News & Classical Music Network of WPR (88.7 FM in Madison or online at https://www.wpr.org/listen-live?network=news).  The quintet’s members are:

Johannes Wallmann, piano
Nick Moran, bass
Tony Barba, saxophone
Paul Dietrich, trumpet
Tim Cieplowski, drums

Downbeat magazine described the performances on the album on (Shifting Paradigm Records) as “confident, muscular and elegant playing.”
