JAZZ ON STATE: Mr. Chair & New Orleans Tribute Band

JOS will begin its second season with a stellar offering of diverse jazz genres at this free outdoor series.  Kicking off the series will be Mr. Chair, a Madison band that looks like a jazz combo, enchants like a string quartet, and electrifies like a rock band, all while delighting listeners with their fresh and authentic sound. Fronted by Ben Ferris on Bass, along with Mark Hetzelr trombone and electronics,  Jason Kutz on piano and keyboard, and Mike Koszewski on drums and percussion. The New Orleans Tribute Band is led by trombonist Darren Sterud and includes a an ever-evolving range of local musicians.  Jazz on State, 100 State St. 5:30pm.  Free event.
