Café CODA is pleased to host Panchromatic Steel and the inaugural Fat Tuesday Bacchanal!
Established in 2016, Panchromatic Steel is Madison’s homegrown steel drum band. Caribbean calypso, reggae, jazz and pop/rock hits by the likes of Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and Prince are a part of Panchromatic’s repertoire, played on steel drums and accompanied by a smokin’ rhythm section. The Fat Tuesday Bacchanal will feature two rousing, carnival-inspired sets of music by this accomplished Madison band.
Joining Panchromatic on the bandstand will be opener The Madison Choro Ensemble, performing a modern interpretation of an antiquated and lovely style of Brazilian instrumental music: Choro, “The father of samba, grandfather of bossa nova.”
The event begins at Happy Hour on Fat Tuesday, 5:30pm, with drinks by Café CODA’s talented bartenders, and scrumptious food options for purchase by our beloved Willy St. next-door neighbor Jamerica! The music begins at 6pm. Celebrate carnival the right way, with Café CODA, Panchromatic Steel, Madison Choro Ensemble, and Jamerica!
Only $10 at the door.
