11/4: DOUG WHITE QUINTET. Together the quintet blends free improv, original compositions and modern jazz classics in playful, dynamic conversation. Lively Latin, swing and fusion rhythms meet rich melodic and harmonic textures in jubilant and pensive songs. This performance will feature new compositions by band members Doug White, piano; Dave Cooper, trumpet and Mark Urness, bass. The quintet will be rounded out with Dane Richeson, drums and Pawan Benjamin, sax. Café CODA, 1224 Williamson St. 8pm. Tickets $20.
