DIG JAZZ: CHRISTO RUPPENTHAL. Kicking off the Spring 2023 DIG Jazz concert series, the Madison Music Collective and Arts + Literature Laboratory present original music from award-winning multi-instrumentalist and improviser Christo Ruppenthal. Ruppenthal is a specialist in Django Reinhardt style Jazz Manouche guitar, Hot Hawaiian lap steel guitar, and ukulele. He will present an evening of his jazz compositions, including “Hot Club” swing, jazz, Latin-infused, and waltz pieces from his recently released all original solo record, Café Allongé. He will be accompanied by his Novelty Combo and special guest Greg Smith (woodwinds). Arts+Literature Laboratory, 111 S. Livingston St. Free event.
