9/17:  DARREN STERUD’S NEW ORLEANS TRIBUTE.  The New Orleans Tribute is comprised of some of Madison’s best jazz and brass band musicians. Since 2013 they have brought a blend of Preservation Hall and the streets of New Orleans, to clubs and bars all over the isthmus and southern Wisconsin. Fronted by trombonists Darren Sterud and Nat McIntosh; they’re backed by the rhythm section of Jordan Cohen, drums; Chris Rottmayer, piano; and Ben Ferris, bass. Often joined by trumpeter Jeff Maddern and Saxophonist Tony Barba, this group’s versatility makes it possible to have a sit down show or a power dance set.  Café CODA, 1224 Williamson St.  7 & 9 pm.  Tickets $20.
