Bill Charlap & Renee Rosnes

BILL CHARLAP & RENEE ROSNES. Two of today’s premier jazz pianists, this New York City-based husband and wife duo recorded Double Portrait together for Blue Note, which features stunningly virtuosic four-handed workouts on a collection of jazz covers and standards, as well as one Rosnes original. Charlap and Rosnes are not like most couples. By the time they married in 2007, each was already a world-renowned jazz pianist with an impressive discography and a packed touring itinerary. Besides continuing to lead his jazz trio, Charlap is the long-time Artistic Director of New York’s 92^nd Street Y jazz series, while Rosnes is currently music director and pianist for the all-female superband Artemis.  These concerts are part of the Salon Piano Series 10^th Anniversary celebration.  Farley’s House of Pianos, 6522 Seybold Rd.  7:30pm (4/6) and 2:00pm (4/7).  Tickets $10-$45.
