The Ben Ferris Octet is a miniature big-band playing music from the 1920’s through modern original compositions. The band is comprised of some of the region’s best improvisers and creative players, and combines the power of a big-band sound with the dexterity and spontaneity of smaller groups.
For their performance at Cafe Coda, the band will feature two special guests: Jim Doherty (Phat Phunktion, Steely Dane) on Trumpet and Chris Rottmayer (UW-Madison Jazz Program) on piano.
