2016 Spring Concert – An opportunity to hear jazz performed by young artists from New Orleans!!
Formed in 2009, Tuba Skinny has evolved from a loose collection of young street musicians into a solid ensemble dedicated to bringing the traditional New Orleans sound to audiences around the world. Their home is New Orleans, and their ensemble includes tuba, trombone, cornet, six-string banjo, guitar, vocals, washboard, and clarinet. Inspired by the early jazz and blues music of the 1920s and 1930s, the band has performed on streets and stages around the world, including music festivals in the U.S., Mexico, Sweden, Australia, Italy, France, Switzerland and Spain.
