The Michael BB Trio/Quartet/Quintet

The Michael BB Trio/Quartet/Quintet, begun in 1994, has two aspects. The first is the performance of MBB’s original music, as recorded on the three CD’s “Guided Tour”, Popular Culture” , and “You’re Dippin”. These recordings are available from www.cdbaby.com/michaelbbquartet
Bop, post, bop, blues, Latin, and even instrumental gospel are all part of that repertoire. A quartet or quintet can perform this music. The horns are trumpet and saxophone.
The second aspect is, of course, the American Songbook, which we have played for many years, as a group and as individuals in other settings. We can play these songs with as many or as few pieces as one’s space or budget will allow. Many private functions choose this repertoire.
Our musicians include, Michael BB at the piano, with John Schaffer, John Christensen, or Ben Ferris on bass, Jim Huwe or Mike Koczewski on drums, Ben Knox or Eric Koppa on saxes, and trumpeter Don Hausch. As individuals, we have more experience than we need, but less than we want!
We are looking to perform around the state of Wisconsin at various regional, county and municipal cultural centers, as part of any concert series these venues present.
