With its annual free year-end party, MJS invites the community to help celebrate the Society’s achievements during 2015-16 and enjoy live music by The Craig Mason Combo, performing a wide range of jazz styles from the early 20th century to the present day. Perhaps best known as an educator and conductor, Craig is also the founder of the Stoughton Area Jazz Collective. For this performance, the Combo includes Craig on trumpet, Jim Kenney on saxophone and clarinet, Alex Bauer on trombone, Dan Hoke on guitar, and a rhythm section of pianist Terry Croft, bassist Pete Olig, and drummer Ron Ragainis. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the afternoon, and a brief business meeting will precede the music. 1:00 PM, Coliseum Bar, 232 East Olin Avenue. Free admission. http://www.madisonjazz.com/
