Here’s a chance to hear an evening of great and wonderfully-diverse music and support the work of the Jazz Consortium. Ricardo Gonzalez has graciously agreed to once again host an MLW Weekend fundraiser for the Consortium at The Cardinal. The music begins at 6:00 PM with iconic jazz vocalist Jan Wheaton (accompanied by pianist Jim Erickson and bassist Laurie Lang), followed at 7:30 PM by the powerhouse Darren Sterud Orchestra, and soulful Latin Jazz from El Clan Destino starting at 10:00 PM. $10 suggested donation with all proceeds split equally between the Consortium and the performers, and with the Consortium’s share supporting the 2016 edition of our Strollin’ series of neighborhood-based “jazz crawls” and our second year of InDIGenous concerts showcasing original works composed and performed by Greater Madison’s finest jazz musicians. 6:00 PM – Midnight, Cardinal Bar, 418 East Wilson.
