WEST END JAZZ BAND. After nearly four decades as our community’s longest-running jazz organization, and while continuing with its jazz education programs, Madison Jazz Society begins its final concert season with this Mardi Gras celebration. The band’s repertoire consists of a broad representation of music from the jazz golden age of 1920-1930. Originally, members of West End were from the west side of Chicago, from which the band takes its name. The band now includes the best musicians in the country for this genre, no matter where they are from, including Andy Schumm, cornet; Eric Schneider, reeds; Frank Gualitieri, trombone; Leah Bezin, banjo; Dave Bock, tuba & Mike Bezin, drums. East Side Club, 3735 Monona Drive. 12pm. Tickets $15 & $20/under 18 free.
