8/26, 27, 28 & 29: ORTON-FRONT FESTIVAL 2021. Orton-Front will combine the flavors and features of both the Marquette Waterfront Festival and Orton Park Festival. Although there are four days of live entertainment, the jazz pickings are fairly slim and limited to the final two days. Now a mainstay guitarist on the Chicago music scene, Madison native Joel Paterson will bring his inventive catalog of swing, jazz, and rock to the Cottonwood Stage, 3:30 Sunday. The Tony Castañeda Latin Jazz Band will follow at 5:00 pm. Castañeda and his tight ensemble have entertained Madison audiences with their traditional blend of congas, keyboards, horns, timbales, and hand percussion. Also on Saturday, Chris Wagoner and Mary Gaines will perform their brand of string jazz on the Cottonwood Stage at 2:00pm. Yahara Place Park, 2020 Yahara Place, Free event.
