inDIGenous Jazz Concert: Michael Brenneis & the Plutonium Players

 inDIGenous JAZZ CONCERT:  MICHAEL BRENNEIS AND THE PLUTONIUM PLAYERS.  The Brenneis composition Plutonium will be performed.  This suite, commissioned by the Jazz Consortium’s Artistic Development Program, cuts a wide swath through the effects of industrialization on the human condition.  The musical language is drawn from the 20th and 21st century jazz vocabulary, but hints at contemporary classical technique from the same period. The performers include a pantheon of Madison jazz musicians:  Michael Brenneis – drums and compositions; Tony Barba – clarinet, soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone; Jonathan Greenstein – tenor saxophone; Greg Smith – baritone saxophone, clarinet; Mark Hetzler – trombone; Paul Dietrich – trumpet; David Spies – tuba; John Christensen – bass.    Produced by the Madison Music Collective.
