3/23:  GREG ABATE WITH JOHANNES WALLMANN TRIO.  Greg Abate jazz saxophonist, flutist, composer continues as an International Jazz/Recording Artist with 225 days a year touring the globe.  Abate is a well-established post hard bop soloist, who prompted the legendary Phil Woods to remark, “I sleep better knowing there are alto sax players like Greg Abate.”  Abate will perform with Johannes Wallmann, piano; Nick Moran, bass and Dave Bayles, drums.  Café CODA, 1224 Williamson St.  7pm.  Tickets $20.
