April 25th, 2017 – NYC Bassist Linda Oh With The UW Contemporary Jazz Ensemble & Jazz Composers Group

Bassist Linda Oh, http://lindaohmusic.com/about/, a star on New York City’s legendary jazz scene, will be conducting a weeklong residency on the UW campus, including performances with School of Music student ensembles as well as high school students in the UW Honors Jazz Band. Since landing in New York in 2008, Ms. Oh has been performing with many of the jazz world’s top musicians including Joe Lovano, Vijay Iyer, Dave Douglas, Kenny Barron, Geri Allen and Terri Lyne Carrington, and is currently the bassist with guitarist Pat Metheny’s group. This is the first of three concerts that Ms. Oh be giving during her residency. 8:30 PM, Morphy Recital Hall in the UW Humanities Building. Free admission.
